This collection of songs and instrumentals is a sample of the many different styles of music Catfish John has performed over the years. It ranges from old time string band music to blues and jug band styles. There are several tracks from the band he was in called "String Fever" from their "Contagious" album. Also a couple of recordings are included from concerts where he performs solo and from his "live" music radio show. Catfish John spent several years touring around the south eastern United States following the "Backroads", absorbing the culture, performing and collecting music from that area.

Since his first public performances in the early 70's in Denver, Catfish has toured the country both as a solo artist and in bands performing in clubs, coffeehouses, music festivals and concerts. His favorite style of music is a combination of Blues & Rock. He has performed in bands ranging from traditional blues and folk to more modern rock and roll.
