This CD of traditional Irish instrumentals features Catfish John's fiddle playing. John's mom was born in Scotland, and he's always felt a connection to celtic music. He has toured much of the British Isles by bicycle. ( with a mandolin strapped to the back) In addition to the fiddle, he also plays some of the other instruments on the album too. ( Done by multi-track overdubbing ). Instruments include: mandolin, guitar, celtic drum (or bodhran), bass, keyboard, and more. The tunes range from fast jigs and reels such as "Coleraine/Kesh Jigs" and "Ships are Sailing" to slower more beautiful melodies like "The Butterfly."
