This album features Catfish John and company playing a collection of more "laid back" style blues songs. As the album title suggests, "Blues With A Feeling", each of these songs has a certain vibe that makes it special. The "slow blues" is really a sub-genre within the over all blues/rock style, and most of the songs included are of a slow to medium tempo. All the songs have full band arrangements with John featured on slide electric guitar for several cuts. His long time friend and collaborator Richard Rose is also featured playing organ on several tracks. "The Blues Is My Best Friend" is an original song he wrote and is the title cut from another album. Other original songs are, "Dirty Business", "Don't Say you Don't Love Me", Whole World Of Trouble", "One Way Or The Other", "Stayin' Out All Night", "Truth In Blue" and "Without Tryin' "

Since his first public performances in the early 70's in Denver, Catfish has toured the country both as a solo artist and in bands performing in clubs, coffeehouses, music festivals and concerts. His favorite style of music is a combination of Blues & Rock. He has performed in bands ranging from traditional blues and folk to more modern rock and roll.
